The deep tissue solution!

If you’re a therapist performing deep tissue massage day after day, and have clients that continually request deep bodywork then Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapy is the workshop for you! We have successfully helped thousands of therapists, saving their backs, hands and wrists from repetitive stress injuries. Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapy is a truly unique form of barefoot massage that allows you to flow into a creative space where you can utilize your entire body to deliver a deep, soothing, therapeutic massage. Going with gravity instead of fighting it, Ashiatsu therapists enjoy the ease of simply focusing their weight into the area they’re working on. This modality will noticeably extend the life of your massage career!

Mudra is proud to mainatin its association with the Deepfeet Bar Therapy school and the owner of Deepfeet. Nancy Delonge (pictured in action) is also the former  owner of Mudra!

This is the introductory class to Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapy. Therapists will have lots of “feet on” time in this class. Strokes learned will be with one foot, focusing on the posterior aspect of the body. By the third day therapists will deliver a full prone Ashiatsu massage on a provided male guest client. Emphasis during the three-day workshop will be on body mechanics, barefoot application, contraindications, marketing, and bar construction. A deposit of $325 is required to hold your spot in class. Only eight students maximum per workshop.

anterior/side lying

The anterior approach to Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapy is a wonderful complement to the posterior strokes learned in Barefoot Basics. This one-day course is conveniently taught right after Barefoot Basics to continue the flowing barefoot effleurage and to deliver a full-body Ashiatsu treatment. If you plan on offering an Ashiatsu session over 60 minutes or full body Ashiatsu treatments, then you really should consider taking this class. The anterior portion of the class focuses on safe application of barefoot massage performed on the supine aspect of the body, while side-lying is more of a clinical approach, working with the client’s assistance to massage muscles such as the QL’s, Teres, Serrates, Lats and upper traps.

This advanced course level is best suited for the barefoot basics graduate who has had time to acquire some clinical experience and are ready to take their barefoot skill set to the next level. You will need upper arm and core strength in addition to balance and coordination to deliver comfortable two-footed moves to your training partner.
Theory and lecture focuses on specific back conditions while identifying and qualifying clients for this treatment. At the end of this 2 day course, you will have learned advanced concepts using two feet to spread and elongate chronic shortened muscle tissue and acquire many more barefoot strokes to add to your Ashiatsu repertoire . You will master the art of fusing science, movement, healing, and rhythm into a seamless flowing barefoot dance. This course level and master training is truly the essence of our advanced training program.

ashi-thai

Ashi-Thai is an expression of traditional Thai stretches that have been modified utilizing the overhead bar system and therapists’ body so no heavy lifting or bending occurs at the waist. This flowing and rhythmic approach to Thai massage was developed for Ashiatsu therapists seeking to expand their barefoot knowledge and add more strokes to their Ashiatsu tool bag. Ashi-Thai can easily be incorporated into a regular Ashiatsu session or can also be considered as a stand-alone treatment. The Ashi-Thai workshop has been divided into two different modules, the posterior module & the anterior module.  The combination of techniques has been arranged following traditional Thai energy lines and stretches for elongating and relieving tightness in commonly used muscle groups. Clients usually feel more range of motion, less tension and an overall sense of balance and well-being after a well-delivered Ashi-Thai massage.
